Drama in Worship
Drama in worship is an important part of what StageOne does. Drama helps tell the story behind a particular Gospel reading, bible readings or teaching with some acting, or through movements and actions and stage effects. For example, in 2012 StageOne members and friends have added to the Christmas story by performing Graham Clarkes “Jo Carpenter and Son”.
Each year StageOne take part in the Easter Sunday Sunrise Service on the Lower Leas Coastal Park in Folkestone. Each StageOne member typically takes on different character roles in the Easter Story and dramatise the discovery of the empty tomb, the frightened women who find the body missing and Jesus telling his disciples to go and spread the word.
Drama in worship provide one of many opportunities to perform with StageOne and as with many members provide an opportunity to act for the first time and put into practice what they have learnt.
