Inside / Outside Workshops
This workshop is based on the premise from the Bard 'all the world’s a stage' These sessions usually take place once a very six months, particularly as the spring season makes evenings and nights. We are encouraged to see how the outside world is also a drama - peoples' habitual behaviour, knee-jerk reactions to everyday occurrences, the lonely and lost, and we listen too to the sounds (often lost at night); the atmosphere on all its glory.
We then come inside and think how these so very human dimensions to life might to demonstrate on the stage. It's always quite thought--provoking what results, for example do we on stage show the lonely people sleeping in doorway rough; the people being themselves; supermarket behaviours; shades and shadows of the evening and night, appearances and deceptions; the wild animals of the night. It's not just about imagination!
